Our Nightwalk has returned for 2024! And this year, we’re serving up some 80s nostalgia to celebrate 40 years of care delivered by North Devon Hospice.
Whether you want to enter solo, with a friend or as part of a team, we’d love to see you there. Join us on 11th May 2024 for this year’s event – 80s fancy dress is strongly encouraged!
- CALLING ALL GIRLS WHO WANNA HAVE FUN!
Get ready to travel back to the era of neon lights, leg warmers and some of the most infectious songs of our times. Our annual Nightwalk is back for another year and in 2024, we will bring you an 80s celebration!
It’s the perfect excuse to channel your inner Madonna, Grace Jones or Cyndi Lauper and dance the night away, all while helping to support our amazing hospice.
The event will gather women and girls to walk a choice of routes between Barnstaple, Bideford and Instow to raise money for North Devon Hospice. At registration, simply choose your route. Then rock up to your chosen start point in your best 80s attire - from 7pm on 11th May 2024 - to get involved with the fun!
We'll provide free transport (courtesy of our friends at Stagecoach) to bring you back to your start point. The four routes to choose from are:
• Barnstaple to Bideford - 10 miles
• Bideford to Barnstaple - 10 miles
• Instow to Barnstaple - 7 miles
• Instow to Bideford - 4 miles (note: 8pm arrival time)
So, Get Into The Groove with your friends and family, Express Yourself with an amazing outfit and ditch your Fast Car to join us on our walk, All Night Long (well, all evening long).

This isn’t your average walk – it’s a journey back in time for the ultimate 80s celebration! By joining us at the event, you’ll be grooving alongside hundreds of other incredible women to raise money for North Devon Hospice. You’ll also be treated to:
• A fun 80s-themed celebration and walk along North Devon's Tarka Trail at night, with lights and entertainment provided on the way
• A ‘rad’ soundtrack to your walk, featuring the best tunes of the 80s
• 80s nostalgia to rewind you back
• Fabulous DJs

• Free refreshments
• Free transport back to your start point
• Plenty of photo ops and selfie stations to record those amazing memories

When you register for Nightwalk, before finalising your ticket purchase, scroll to the bottom of the page and select your t-shirt to add this to your order! Do this before 25th April 2024 and you’ll have the opportunity to purchase one of our awesome 80s-style event t-shirts! They’re a great way of showing your support for North Devon Hospice and Nightwalk.

Why walk for North Devon Hospice?
The majority of people North Devon Hospice cares for are women. They may be facing a terminal diagnosis, or they may be caring for their partner or parent who is affected by a life-limiting illness, often while juggling work and other commitments themselves. By fundraising and participating in Nightwalk, you can help to support these women, every step of the way.
How do I set up a fundraising page?
Simply click here to set up your Nightwalk Just Giving page. Send the link to your friends, family and colleagues using Facebook, WhatsApp, or email. You'll be amazed at how quickly you reach £50 or £100! Once you set up your Just Giving page, we'll keep in touch with tips and support on how to raise as much as possible for local families.

Who is the event open to?
Nightwalk is open to women and girls, aged 11+. All girls under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult woman who walks with them at the event. Please note, a maximum of three under-18s are permitted to walk with each adult.
Are men allowed to volunteer?
Although Nightwalk is restricted to women participants, we encourage men to get involved by volunteering
Is the Nightwalk route accessible?
We have tried our best to make Nightwalk accessible for all. If you have limited mobility or any questions about the route, please get in touch with our fundraising team by emailing lisamackenzie@northdevonhospice.org.uk.
